We hope that these statements with motivate you to consider how your perspective affects you and your world.
◦As our name indicates, we believe in Creation. How could it all "just happen"? Everything, from our perfectly balanced solar system to our marvelous and complex bodies, demands the fact that we couldn't have just appeared. Take the proteins that make up every living cell for example. The average protein has about 400 amino acid links. Each one must be in the right order for the protein to be formed. There's a pretty tiny chance that somehow every living cell just happened to have proteins with 400 amino acids in the correct order. The probability that this could occur is one chance in ten - followed by 240 zeros! Even over "millions of years", this is almost totally impossible!
◦We believe that the world was created by God no more than 10,000 years ago. And many evolutionists claim that the earth is billions of years old. They oftentimes use radiometric dating to determine the age of rocks or fossils. This method uses the decay rate of its elements. If we know how long carbon 14 takes to decay and we know how much of that element an object originally had, we can accurately give that object an age. The problem is, scientists do not know how much carbon 14 was in the object originally. So, they cannot accurately determine an age. Another problem is that factors such as heat and radiation alter the decay rate of carbon 14. As creationists, we use the Genesis genealogy lists from the Bible to estimate the age of the earth. We can prove the Bible’s accuracy using history. Archaeologists have worked in lands mentioned in the historic reports from the Bible. Time after time they have found remains from events, people, and places mentioned in the Bible. A famous Jewish archaeologist, Nelson Glueck, wrote that “no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference.” Because the Bible is proven to be true, we believe that it holds the key to an accurate estimation of the world’s age.
◦We believe in the Genesis Flood. The flood is one of the best explanations for the thrusting up of many mountain ranges, the jumbling of fossil remains, and for the seashell findings on mountain peaks. Scientists cannot deny that many of the earth’s features are shaped by cataclysmic events. The Flood is a perfect explanation for these unusual features.
◦We believe we were created for a purpose. Evolutionists have never been able to explain human’s intellect and ability to make moral choices. No animal on earth has the ability to make true decisions or know the difference between right and wrong. If we’re really “just animals”, how could this “just happen”? It couldn’t. Genesis 1:27 states that, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created them…” And John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” These verses make it clear that God loves us and He created us in His own image. As Christians, we believe that our purpose in life is to glorify Him – our Maker, Redeemer, and Friend.
